The short version
ShadeScore does not collect anything. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no server that belongs to this app. Nothing you do in it is sent to the developer or anyone else.
What the app stores
The app saves your choices on your own device, using the standard iOS preferences store:
- the stadium, date, start time and event type you last chose
- your seat: section, row and seat as you typed them, and where on the map you placed it
- games you have saved, and the names you gave them
- weather values you typed in by hand
This stays on your device. It is included in your device backup if you back up your iPhone, because that is how iOS backups work. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Location
The app asks for your location only if you tap "Nearest to me" in the stadium list. It asks for your approximate location, uses it once on your phone to sort stadiums by distance, and does not store it or send it anywhere. If you never tap that button, the app never asks. You can turn location off for ShadeScore at any time in Settings.
Network connections
Every stadium, its geometry and its climate data are bundled into the app, so the shade score works with no signal.
- Weather forecasts: for games in the next 10 days, the app asks Apple Weather for the forecast at the stadium. The request contains the stadium's location and the game time, not your location or anything about you, and is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
- Satellite view loads map imagery from Apple Maps for the stadium you are looking at. That request goes to Apple and is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
- Official seat map links open the team's or venue's website in your browser. What that site does is covered by its own privacy policy.
Children
The app collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it.
